The banter between the two rivals that of Jared and Tatum (from Bully), and the presence of Jared and Tatum as characters (no spoilers!) in this novel was an added surprise. When I discovered Rival (the second installment) I also stumbled upon the other two books in the series: Falling Away, following Jared's brother, Jaxon, and Aflame, following Tate and Jared once again. Also, I wanted to make note of the most recent installation, the novella Next to Never, which I have not had the chance to read (but Douglas has promised a full novel soon which I will be sure to read.) So, without further ado, t his review will be dedicated to three books: Rival, Falling Away, and Aflameįrom the second I began reading, I fell in love with Madoc and Fallon. However, I never realized there had been another installation, that follows Jared's best friend, Madoc. I bet the book is still every bit of genius, but I decided not to read that installment. I knew Penelope Douglas had written Until You, following the same storyline through Jared's perspective, but I have never been a huge fan of reading the same storyline from a different viewpoint. I read Bully ( see a quick blurb about it on my "favorite books" tab), the first book in the "Fall Away" Series, a year or two ago.
